A reflection on service learning

The teacher helps each student monitor individual progress, construct meaning from the content learned and from the process of learning it, and apply the learnings to other contexts and settings. For me, that was my major concern, having to work in such an intense setting for such a long period.

My ability to adapt to situations and circumstances were tested time and time again. Because of limited funds, scholarship awards will be prioritized for those students who submit their Forester Scholarship application with their application for admission.

First, I find that I can use the Habits of Mind as one lens for reflection. The set operates by consensus. Andrea Gelfuso and Danielle Dennis, in a report on a formative experiment with student teachers, suggest that teaching how to reflect requires teacher educators to possess and deploy specific competences.

Without teachers every little boy and every little girl would not have the education that is needed to succeed in their lives.

Chapter 1 Learning Through Reflection

Forester Scholarships recognize a dedication to academics, the arts, sciences, and community. Combine the virtues of the dreamer, the realist, and the critic.

It is a case of reflecting on who is going forward with them in the experience, and understanding what each can bring to the table in terms of skills, knowledge and abilities. When you begin with questioning insight, you can find that some of the existing "P" is of little value, and there may be new "P" that needs to be developed. In other cases, the individual team members may bring to the set problems from their own workplace.

Honestly, I thought it was a waste of time and a technique by the Board of Education used to add more stress on students. Also, I value the quietness. This can be difficult to achieve after long periods of blockage caused by the repetitiveness and intensity of daily events.
